Prohibited Items Policy

VidCo — Items that may not be listed or sold on the Platform

1. Purpose

This Prohibited Items Policy sets out the categories of items that may not be listed, offered or sold on the VidCo platform, including the VidCo mobile applications (customer, merchant and delivery-partner apps) and any associated websites (collectively, the "Platform"), and items that may be listed only if specific legal and regulatory requirements are met. It forms part of the Terms of Service and the Seller Agreement, and applies to all Merchants and Content.

2. General Rule

You must not list, sell, advertise or facilitate the sale of any item that is illegal, unsafe, infringing, or otherwise prohibited under applicable Indian law or under this Policy. When in doubt, do not list the item and contact support@vidco.in for guidance. This Policy is not exhaustive; VidCo may remove any listing and take enforcement action at its discretion.

3. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited on the Platform:

• illegal drugs, narcotics, psychotropic substances, and related paraphernalia;
• weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, and their parts;
• counterfeit, replica or unauthorised branded goods, and items that infringe intellectual-property rights;
• stolen goods, or goods with removed, altered or falsified serial numbers or labels;
• wildlife, endangered species, ivory, and products derived from protected animals or plants;
• human organs, blood, tissue or remains;
• hazardous, radioactive or toxic materials, and unlawful chemicals;
• child sexual abuse material and any content or item that sexually exploits minors;
• obscene or pornographic material, and unlawful adult content;
• currency, counterfeit currency, and unauthorised financial or securities instruments;
• recalled, banned or unsafe products;
• items that promote hatred, violence, terrorism or discrimination;
• devices, software or services designed to enable illegal activity, hacking, or bypassing security; and
• any other item prohibited under applicable law.

4. Restricted / Regulated Items

The following items may be listed only where the Merchant holds all required licences, approvals and registrations, complies with applicable labelling and safety standards, and where the Platform enables the relevant category. Merchants remain solely responsible for such compliance:

• food and packaged food products — requires FSSAI licensing/registration, correct labelling, and adherence to shelf-life and storage requirements;
• cosmetics and personal-care products — requires applicable registration and compliant labelling;
• drugs, medicines and medical devices — subject to strict licensing under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act; prescription medicines and Schedule H/H1/X drugs must not be listed unless expressly permitted with valid authorisation;
• Ayurvedic, Siddha and Unani products — requires applicable licences and compliant claims;
• electronics and electrical goods — must meet BIS and applicable safety standards;
• products requiring BIS/ISI certification or mandatory standards;
• alcohol and tobacco products — restricted or prohibited and permitted only where lawful, licensed and expressly enabled; and
• any item that is age-restricted or otherwise regulated under applicable law.

5. Content and Listing Standards

Listings, images, videos, reels and stories must not promote or depict prohibited items, and must not make unlawful, misleading or unsubstantiated claims (including false health, medicinal or safety claims). All Content is subject to the Content & Community Guidelines.

6. Consequences of Violation

Listing or selling a prohibited or non-compliant item may result in:

• immediate removal of the listing and related Content;
• cancellation of affected Orders and reversal of related payouts;
• suspension, delisting or termination of the Merchant account;
• withholding or forfeiture of settlements linked to the violation; and
• reporting to and cooperation with law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.

7. Reporting

If you believe an item listed on the Platform violates this Policy, please report it using the in-app reporting tools or contact us at grievance@vidco.in. We review reports and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.

8. Legal Compliance

This Policy is intended to support compliance with applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, the Arms Act, 1959, and other applicable statutes. Where any conflict arises, applicable law prevails.
